Somerset CPRE has three active District Groups - a long running group in South Somerset and two brand new groups for 2011 in West Somerset and Mendip. We hope to establish groups in Taunton Deane and Sedgemoor very soon
District Groups are set up by, and for, local members to be able to share their thoughts about priorities and areas of concern in their District. The Group can work together to put forward a joint, reasoned response to any planned developments that give cause for concern. Usually, a District Group meets every couple of months and any necessary dialogue in the meantime can take place by telephone or email.
Joining a Group is a great opportunity to help to protect our beautiful area without a huge amount of extra time commitment. You will meet like-minded people from your area and we can even offer the opportunity for training if you would like to learn more about the planning system or about CPRE itself.
