Tuesday 20th March 2018 - 10am to 3pm

£15 per person including sandwich lunch and oyster tasting.

Booking essential - places are limited.

Come and learn how oysters are grown in Porlock Bay direct from the people who set up this Community Interest Company, which uses all its profits to benefit the community of Porlock.  In 2012 a community project was set up to revive oyster growing in Porlock as a way of providing jobs for local people and encouraging young people to stay in the village.  We will have an illustrated talk in the village hall from one of the founders of the project, then enjoy a locally made sandwich lunch and sample the oysters.  Then it is time to put our wellies on for a visit to the oyster beds on the beach at low tide.

Please note: beach access is VERY difficult with football-sized boulders.  You must be fully mobile in order to attend.  Wellies are essential!

To book your place, email Becky Collier, Branch Manager on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  Numbers are limited so do book early.
