HELPING AND SUPPORTING CPRE IN SOMERSET
There are many ways you can help CPRE in Somerset
Firstly you can help simply by joining. Part of CPRE's strength lies in the size of it's membership. Additionally 50% of the annual subscriptions come to the Branch, the remainder going to pay the salaries of the full time staff at CPRE's national office in London.
Secondly, you can help as a volunteer and about 10% of our members do this. Almost all of CPRE's work in Somerset is dependent upon unpaid volunteer help. There is a wide variety of tasks depending on how much or how little time you can spare.
Some members help our District Groups by investigating planning applications. We also need members to help with the running of the various groups. All new members are sent a questionnaire/tick list with about 50 items where help is needed.
Training can be arranged for anyone who is able to give a little time.
We are in need of some more active members to enable us to function fully in Somerset.
We especially need some members who can form an active group in the areas covered by both Mendip and Taunton Deane District Councils.
