In February 2024 we were delighted to team up with our friends at Somerset Levels Stargazers to offer everyone the chance to spend a night with the stars!

CPRE has campaigned for many years to reduce light pollution and ensure that everyone can enjoy truly dark skies.

Our Stargazing event, held at Middlezoy Village Hall, welcomed a really good turnout of people of all ages – thanks to everyone who came along. After a long and wet winter, the skies didn’t play fair and remained cloudy but we still had plenty to do and learnt lots about the wonders of starry skies.

Thanks also to Jo Richardson of Space Detectives who gave a talk  and ran some fun kids’ activities.  Jo is resident Astronomer at Exmoor National Park Dark Sky Reserve and spends her life sharing her enthusiasm and knowledge of the night sky with people of all ages.
