A win for the countryside near Wincanton

A win for our countryside!

We are pleased that the Planning Inspectorate has dismissed an appeal to allow 100 houses on Windmill Hill, Wincanton.

We spoke at the appeal saying that the proposal would be harmful to the character and appearance of the area, and would degrade the rural setting of Wincanton.  Happily, the Inspector has agreed with our case and the appeal has been rejected.
This development was in conflict with policies in the Local Plan which seek to promote and protect local distinctiveness and protect local identity.
