Consultation on Development
The Council have issued a News Release regarding a draft consultation document which will set the context for future development in Taunton, Wellington and the rural areas.
Six public meetings are to be held during January in Taunton and the surounding areas.
If you are at all concerned about the possibility of a further 18,000 new houses in Taunton and 3500 in Wellington then it is vital that you should attend one of these meetings

Paul Bryan (pictured) has been appointed Chair of Somerset CPRE.

 

He joins us from the Blackdown Hills AONB Partnership.

He said: "I'm looking forward to the prospect of helping to conserve and enhance Somerset's landscape and I'm keen to work closely with the Executive Committee and Somerset CPRE members to find out how best this can be achieved.”

Mr Bryan has experience of working in Landscape Architecture and Planning, in both Local Government and in private practice. He also lectured in Landscape Architecture at Manchester University.

He is interested in historic and vernacular buildings and landscapes. He is particularly involved in ensuring that Somerset's attractive and distinctive landscape characters are protected.

Paul has lived in Exmoor and the Brendon Hills for the past 18 years. He is married and has two young children.
